Win to advance; a loss ends your run. The draw decides your opponent in every round. Other matches are simulated as your round completes, so you can follow who is still in contention.
The eight highest-rated entrants receive seeds. The leading seeds start in separate parts of the bracket; unseeded places are shuffled. A new tournament can give you a different path.

- Choose your player.Use a fictional roster character with its own playing strengths, or create a player with your name, outfit, and custom forehand, backhand, serve, and footwork ratings. Your custom player takes one place in the 32-player field.
- Set the challenge.Choose Easy, Club, Ace, PRO, or LEGEND for the computer opposition. LEGEND is the toughest challenge. Character ratings and opponent difficulty are separate choices.
- Pick one of three tournament courts.Play on New York’s hard court, London’s grass, or Paris’s clay. Your selected court stays with you through the tournament.
- Follow the bracket.Start your opening match, then return to the tournament draw after the result. Keep winning to reach the final and lift the trophy.

The desert, beach, and Moon destination courts are available in Single Game and Practice. Tournament mode uses the three classic courts above.
Every round is a full match.
Win 3 games with a two-game lead. Points use 0, 15, 30, 40, deuce, and advantage. At 3–3 in games, play a tiebreak to 7 points with a two-point lead; its winner takes the match 4–3.
A title takes five match wins. There are no extra sets in the final: the same short match format applies in every round.

Is this a multiplayer tournament?
No. You control one entrant and play against computer opponents. For a match against a friend or another person, use Multiplayer.
Are these official players or tournaments?
Top Tennis uses fictional arcade characters and an original tournament draw. The game does not claim licensed athletes or an official tennis-tour affiliation. World Court Cup is the name of the game’s tournament mode.
Can I choose all my opponents?
The tournament draw selects your opponents. For a match against a particular roster opponent, use Single Game.
Can I pause or come back later?
You can pause an active computer match with P or the on-screen pause button. Keep the game tab open for your tournament run; reloading or closing the page resets the active tournament.
Can I play the tournament on mobile?
Yes, on a compatible mobile browser with WebGL 2 and graphics acceleration. The tournament uses the same touch controls as a single match.
