Play tennis with a friend or find an opponent online. Top Tennis offers private invite links and public matchmaking, with manual movement, timed swings, and short matches.
The person creating a private match chooses its court. You can play on New York’s hard court, London’s grass, or Paris’s clay. Public matchmaking handles court selection for you.
Choose Find opponent in Multiplayer to enter the public queue. Once another player is paired with you, check the room and choose Ready to play. Both players must be ready before the match starts.
Finding an opponent depends on another player joining the queue and your connection meeting the public queue’s latency requirements. If the game says your connection is too slow for public matching, try a private invitation instead. Both players can accept a slow-connection warning in a private room. If you are waiting, you can cancel the search and return to the menu.
The online service needs an active connection. If it is unavailable, the game shows its connection status; you can return to Single Game, Practice, or a Tournament and try Multiplayer again later.

Read the touch guide →Matches are first to 3 games, win by 2. Points use regular tennis scoring, including deuce and advantage. At 3–3, a tiebreak to 7 points with a two-point lead decides the match.
Opening the online options menu does not pause the other player or stop the rally. Choose your settings before you ready up, and use the match controls to leave when you are finished.
Both players join through their browsers. Each device needs JavaScript, WebGL 2, graphics acceleration, and an active internet connection. Keyboard and touch controls are available on compatible devices.
Check that both players are in the room and have selected Ready to play. If the room reports a slow connection, both players must accept the warning before starting. Public matchmaking also needs another player in the queue.
Check your connection and the message in the game. If the service cannot be reached or all courts are busy, return to the menu and try again later. A public-match connection warning may instead offer a private invitation, which both players can accept. Computer matches, practice, and tournaments offer other ways to play.
The World Court Cup tournament is a separate mode against computer opponents. Multiplayer is for a match against another person.
No. The options menu leaves the live match running. Busted Mode, which pauses a single-player game behind a mock spreadsheet, is also unavailable in online matches.
